Hello, I am Derrick Batten, Jr. I am someone who believes strongly that we are put on this world to help others first. I believe we are given certain qualities and traits that we all can use to help the world move forward. Purpose is the drive each of us should have to create our own personal missions and visions in this world to help people; whether it is for everyone, or a specific group of individuals.
I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Professional Theatre from the illustrious North Carolina A&T State University ‘20 with a concentration in Acting. I am now continuing my education at University of North Carolina School of the Arts '25 for a Master of Fine Arts in Design & Production with a concentration in Wig & Makeup.
My area of interest is Acting, Special Effects Makeup, Beauty Makeup, Hair Styling, Wig Reconstruction/Deconstruction, Hair Ventilation, Prosthetics, and Arts Management.
Member of Alpha Psi Omega National Theatre Honor Society.
